Enhancing Parenting Skills, Practices, and Behaviors Strengthening Parenting Skills, Practices, and Behaviors
Parenting is one of the most important roles a person can take on, whether biologically or by choice. Yet, there is no formula, guidebook, or training that ensures the perfect parent because there is no such thing. The notion that parenting skills come naturally minimizes the varied and unique needs of each child and the question and challenges that may present at every stage of a child’s development.
PROCEED’s Parenting Support Groups provide a safe and respectful environment where people who parent can come together to discuss challenges with childrearing, learn strategies to strengthen the parent/child relationship, and practice new skills that will aide in parenting. Groups are led by a skilled facilitator that encourage Parents to explore their own feelings and reactions, their family dynamics, and how they handle their emotions when it comes to parenting and disciplining children.
Parenting Support groups are free of charge to eligible famlies curretly enrolled in a counseling program.
